So you'll have to fill me in. Basically ebonics class? I'd take that.

I don't know how to rate math schedules on level of hardcore because I assume most upper level math courses to be harder than what I care to know so my rating would be a bit off. But ... three 300-level math courses looks like ... fun.

My initial schedule was going to be:
Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Organic Chem. Lab II, and Latin America at the Movies

After learning that I can't take Biochemistry until having completed Org. Lab II, I rearranged my schedule to go ahead and take a better Physiology teacher and a harder Org. Lab teacher (by default)... so my new schedule idea:

MWF: 8:30-9:20: Ancient Rome
TR: 10:30-11:50: Physiology
1:30-2:50: Latin America since Nationalization

T: 6:30-9:20- Latin America at the Movies

W: all day pretty much ... Physiology lab + Org. II lab

Hours: 14

++++++ MCAT studying to the max

also, I will be sitting in on a Cancer biology course and a Span.-Amer. lit class when I have time... which will probably be rarely but ... yeah .. that is the plan at least.

Real Analysis. The class that told me I wasn't cut out for math. Advanced Calc (is that a fancy word for multi-variable calc?) is manageable, and Topology is a tossup. I did non-Euclidean geometry but I think I was hurt by by lack of artistic ability (the professor wanted lots of compass work).

Right now I am taking ... NOTHING! :-)

I know who will be teaching Advanced Calc and Topology (even though the math department hasn't released this information publicly... but I have sources), and he's not overly difficult. Real Analysis is the tough one, though I think it'll be manageable as well. I actually like this schedule.

Are you going for a history minor there? I see classes with Rose, Zoumaras and/or Becker in there.

It's actually Rose and 2 Beckers .... and yes ... probably going to go for the minor while I'm at it. I just need 3 more classes... and Becker teaches an awesome class each of the following semesters so I would just need one more.

From what I understood about Advanced Calc; it is proving everything Newton and other did. So Ad Calc 2 is proving calc 2 (the hardest of the 3 calcs).

I thought Real Analysis was proving everything Newton did (you usually don't get up to living mathematicians until grad school). Multivariable is usually a sophomore course IIRC. Matt, you're a senior right?

There are two different approaches to Advanced Calc. One approach is to prove all of Calculus; the other is to attack harder problems in calculus. Our class is somewhere in the middle - we do some proofs and some harder calc problems. Real Analysis will be more of an "all proofs" class.

I'm technically a senior by credits, but won't be graduating until next year.

First semester we cover pre calc then the second semester we do calc.

I also am taking trig this year and it is trig first semester because we just don't apply it since we have physics, then second semester we do cobanatorics( I don't think I spelled that right).

We have a senior this year who is on our a team that is taking Trig, Calc, and college Algebra online this year with Dr. Sly who is math professor at Drury, MSU, and Rolla I believe. So he does quite a bit of math. Dr. Sly wants him to be on the MSU math team this fall so he must be doin fine since there is both highschool students and college students in there.

Well I'll be taking...

CS284 Intro to Operating Systems
Stat 217
Comp Eng 313 (Principles of Computer Architecture) or 315 (Digital Computer Design) (haven't decided which one yet)
Some science elective - probably Bio Sci 231 - General Genetics
Some humanities elective - have no idea what yet because I despise humanities (art/music/english/foreign language/philosophy)

--edit--
Well crap, after looking at the schedule 284 is only offered at 1 MWF, which is also the only time 315 is offered. And 313 is taught by Choi - a friend had him for 213 and it was horrible

An easy science elective is modern physics. Dr. Story is awesome, tests are fair, small amount of homework.

As for 313 and 315. I enjoyed 315 more (but it was taught by McCracken and this class is how he made his millions in the 80's).

Who is teaching 315?

I had 313 with Ali and it was ok... nothing to hard or boring.

The only schedule possible with this 5-class combination:

11-11:50 MWF - BioSci 231 Genetics
1-1:50 MWF - CS 284 Intro to Operating Systems

11-12:15 TTh - CpE 313 Principles of Computer Architecture
12:30-1:45 TTh - Philosophy 15 Introduction to Logic (roommate took it last semester; while somewhat boring it wasn't too bad. Stupid required humanities credit.)
2:00-3:15 TTh - Stat 217

Everything's close together and the only gap I have is MWF lunch so really no downtime on campus this semester. No lunch break TTh is manageable since I don't have any classes until 11.

My schedule is considered "hard" for my school, but it's not so bad, really.

(Every class, every day, 50 minutes)

1. Band
2. (17-minute homeroom)
3. Calculus (dual credit)
4. Spanish II
5. Lifetime Sports
6. Composition (dual credit)
7. Physics (independent study)
8. Yearbook

In addition to class, I will be in basketball pep band, managing the track team (we're hosting a sectional meet, yikes!), and doing sound for the spring play, on top of my duties as officer in like every club and FBLA competitive events, etc. Not to mention of course QUIZ BOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My classes for my school would be considered hard especially with the teachers that teach it. Every day I have each class for 50 minutes. Weighted classes are harder so they are based on a higher point system so if you get a B+ in a weighted class it is like an A in an average class.

Creative writing/Mytholohy (weighted)
Chemistry(weighted)
T.A.
Trig(weighted)
Calc(weighted)
Great Books/speech(both weighted and speech is dual credit) also note: great books is considerd the hardest class in our highschool.
Yearbook.

Then I play baseball, and Quizbowl.

Hooray for weighted classes. I had eight of them the second semester of my senior year (I should note here that Viburnum ran on a seven-hour schedule in those days).

Physics 197 (this is the recommended physics course for physics majors/engineers)
Chinese 101 (pretty self explanatory)
Math 233 (Calc III)
ChemE 146 (introductory course for Chemical Engineering)

My first semester freshman schedule follows:

(note: I transferred in 26 hours of dual-credit so most of my gen. ed. classes are out of the way.)

MWF 9:00-9:50
Phil 1200H - Logic and Reasoning, Honors (3)

MWF 11:00-11:50
Eng 2159 - World Literature from 1890-Present (3)

MWF 2:00-2:50
Span 2160 - Intermediate Spanish Composition and Conversation (3)

TR 12:30-1:45
Ling 1060 - Human Language (3)

TR 2:00-3:15
Anthro 1000 - General Anthropology (3)

TWRF 4:15-6:00
Music 1841 - Marching Mizzou (1)

If I pass my Spanish class with a C or better I get automatic (and FREE) back credit. Thirteen hours worth! That would mean that after only one semester of college I would have 55 credit hours to my name. It still boggles my mind.

0900-1200: Produce and schedule spots, sometimes make a news call
1200-1300: Lunch
1300-1400: Finish spot scheduling as best as possible, sub in as receptionist whilst bookkeeper is at lunch. Chip in ad and/or news copy.
1400-1700: On-air board shift. Finish all of the above in-between commercial breaks and show segments.

Some Tuesday and Thursday nights:
City council and quorum court meetings

Coming soon on Friday nights:
Board operation for football season

I'm meeting with my adviser tomorrow... this one wasn't fun figuring out.

- I'm locked into a certain section of senior design, which locked out my choice for a free elective (of all the classes I could have picked, which is pretty much ANYTHING, it was a 300-level math class) by a whole 15 minutes of overlap.
- My choice for EE elective that I'm required to take apparently now has a 100-level prerequisite that isn't even a class in the outdated printed catalog I have, so I may not be able to take that. I had to pick what seems to be the least of 4 evils to replace that choice...
- A couple other choices I had aren't being offered this semester, though at least one of the courses I'm selecting instead is probably better suited for my tentative career path (which I didn't know about before because of the aforementioned outdated catalog I was using).

At least I won't have to do this ever again!!!

I only had one real mid-term...it was in World Lit, and I got a 210/200.

I had a logic test that same day (but not a mid-term) on which I got an 89/100. Not so good as Lit.

Soc 1000H -- Intro to Sociology, Honors -- TR 3:30-4:45

EDIT: This has been heavily changed. See below!

SPAN 493 Senior Sem, TR 1:30-2:50
ENGL 493 Senior Sem, TR 3-4:20

Thankfully the new electronics prerequisite does not apply to me, so I am able to take that as my EE elective.

edit 10/29 - So it also turns out all the other people in my senior design group are taking it on Monday/Wednesday. Fortunately, this works out for me; I don't have to be bored for 3 hours on Wednesdays trying to appreciate art for a grade.

Tentative schedule:
MWF 10-10:50 - CpE 314 - Embedded Processor System Design
MWF 11-11:50 - CS 345 - Introduction to Robotic Systems
MWF 1-1:50 - EE 253 - Electronics I
MW 3-4:50 - Senior Design
TTh 2-3:15 - Math 307 - Combinatorics and Graph Theory (yes, I would much rather take this than Art Appreciation. I appreciate art enough already through quiz bowl.)
Tu 5-6:50 - EE 255 - Electronics I Lab

Still busy Mondays and Wednesdays but easy Tuesday/Thursday make up for it.

Previous afternoon schedule had I been forced to take Tuesday/Thursday senior design:
M 3-4:50 - EE 255 - Electronics I Lab
TTh 3-4:50 - Senior Design
W 3-5:45 - Art 80 - Art Appreciation

Mondays and Wednesdays may not be very fun but [with the previous schedule, I liked] that as much time as I [needed] on Tuesday/Thursday to work on senior design stuff.

New Schedule

Monday/Wednesday/Friday
9:00-9:50 --> Logic Lab (Friday only)
10:00-10:50 --> Literature and Dialect [Engl 2000]
11:00-11:50 --> Elementary Logic [Ling 2700] (Mon-Wed only)
12:00-12:50 --> Intro. to Meteorology [Geog 1050]
3:30-4:45 --> Intro. to Philosophy, Honors [Phil 1000H] (Mon-Wed only)
1:30-5:00 --> Work @ YouZeum (Friday only)

Tuesday/Thursday
11:00-12:15 -->Masterpieces of Western Music [Music 1310]
2:00-3:15 --> Phonology [Ling 4630]
3:30-5:00 --> Work @ YouZeum (Thursday only)

It's an 18 hour schedule. Which is fine, since I don't have Marching Mizzou taking up 2 hours every weekday!

* Edited for hopefully the final changes.

Couldn't bring yourself to wake up at 8 in the morning instead of taking Real Analysis?
