Hahahahaha. That's okay

Yeah, it's a reference to what was at the time the name of AHAN Jr. on hsquizbowl ("Canadian Music Appreciation Station") [AHAN is basically where the not-so-serious off-topic posts go and always has some random name like that]

My phone went off during Latin class today. Normally that might be a bad thing, but the usual humiliation was balanced out by the sudden silence followed by a bunch of people laughing. My ringtone is Navi (the "Hey! Listen!" fairy from Legend of Zelda).
[To top things, the call wasn't actually important at all. It was one of my best friends calling from another class specifically to make my phone ring in the middle of class  ]

I didn't realize people thought Skynyrd was that good in the first place. Anyways, I don't think Zeppelin is overrated.

Also, Ammar, Hoy would.

Yeah, she would. But she's forgiven (plus I was kind of asking for it)
And it's not like I got in trouble. It was Latin class :D

OK, so let me get this straight. . . .

I got to the ER at 10 on Wednesday morning, and I did not get in to see the doctor until 2. That's four hours total. Plus another 4 1/2 hours until they got me into the OR to take my nearly-ruptured appendix out (but they had to do it one thing at a time).

My company is too cheap to offer sick leave, so I had to take three days off work without pay to recover from emergency surgery! ( :!: )

Furthermore, since I'm uninsured, I'm footing the bill. Even worse, they had the nerve to come up to my hospital bed with me lying there in major pain to ask if I could make a down payment on the bill! :o (Though they did say they would take some off the bill.)

OK, so this is supposed to be better than European healthcare? Right. Gotcha!

Lord, it's the same old tune, fiddle and guitar
Where do we take it from here?
Rhinestone suits and new shiny cars
It's been the same way for years
We need to change. . .

Somebody told me when I came to Nashville
"Son, you finally got it made
"Ol' Hank made it here; we're all sure that you will"
But I don't think Hank done it this way, no
I don't think Hank done it this way

Ten years on the road makin' one night stands
Speedin' my young life away
Tell me one more time just so's I'll understand
Are you sure Hank really done it this way?
Did ol' Hank really do it this way?

Lord, I've seen the world with a five-piece band
Lookin' at the back side of me
Singin' my songs, one of his now and then
But I don't think Hank done 'em this way, no
I don't think Hank done 'em this way

Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?, Waylon Jennings (1975)

So quizbowl is the one reason I meet some people online before I meet them in real life (and then proceed to meet those people in real life as well).
Least now I can put a face with some of these names

Now as opposed to me. I've let online friends in my car immediately after meeting them in person. This is not the best idea, but I tend to be less paranoid about things like that than most people.

Lol I'm pretty cool with that too, I'm planning on going to Maryland (the state) later this summer to visit friends I've never met in real life before. Isn't that awesome?

Saw a commercial for Sutherlands 14% off regular price on Flag Day sale this weekend... and noticed a disclaimer very similar to the one in this flyer:
Participating stores only. 5% Friends of the Family Rewards cannot be earned or used during this promotion. Excludes gift cards, liquor & built-on-your-lot Arrow sheds.
Where do you find the liquor - right next to the power tools? :?

And now, famed lyricists Chris Zhang and Sabrina Fritz present to you... a horror that is terribad beyond imagining.

WAKE UP IN THE MORNING FEELIN LIKE GLAUCOMAS,
GRAB MY HUGE PRESCRIPTION GLASSES IM LITERALLY GOING TO HIT THIS CITY,
BEFORE I LEAVE BRUSH MY TEETH WITH A BOTTLE OF WAX,
CAUSE I CAN'T SEE **** AND I AIN'T COMING BACK, I"M TALKIN
LASIK IN MY EYES, EYES, STUMBLING AROUND HALF BLIND, BLIND, DOUBLE VISION MESSING WITH MY MIND, MIND,
*Bum bum bum!*...

On another note, I cannot believe you guys let the first thread to get a thousand posts end it with something like that.
