Going to the dentist. If you hear anguished screaming coming from the general direction of Maplewood this afternoon, that will be me.

Well, strictly speaking, at least it should be better than the possible [eventual] outcome if you don't go (at least that's the hope.)

That's exactly it. I have gum disease, so it'll be a lot worse if I don't go. :(

Planning to print out all the calc hw that's due today, only to realize Goodrich didn't put the last two worksheets on the site yet. Now I have to see if I still have those... >_>

Trico Flex wiper blades. The passenger side one broke off today. Absolute biggest waste of money ever. They do work great when the windshield is soaked but the plastic is apparently so fragile that with any friction it's only a matter of time before it wears out and snaps. Given my experience the drivers' side replacement I bought in Independence would probably break within a couple of months so I replaced both with a better brand that I know works. Thought I could get away with paying a little less... turns out I ended up paying twice as much!

(Oddly, Advance Auto's website lists that particular wiper as not fitting my car... it's a 24 inch wiper blade that snapped onto the wiper arms effortlessly, how does it not fit? Unless they know it is a piece of crap on certain models... I do seem to remember when I first bought them not seeing that one on the list given by the in store lookup device but the cashier said it would fit... hmm.... oh well, still won't buy Trico again!)

He still teaches part-time. In our 7 hour day, he teaches 4th-7th hours (I believe). I will tell him that when he returns to school Paul. :)

So evidently Paul's at the hospital now and may need an appendectomy.

Let's hope this is not one of those rule of 3's deals, ok folks?:)

Howdy folks; just checking in. I'm fine. The operation went well and I spent the rest of the week and weekend in Cuba at my parents house. Emergency appendectomies definitely suck; I don't recommend them for a long weekend. I'm doing a lot better; I'm back to work tomorrow and I did conduct some quizbowl business this weekend. Some of our friends called and texted to check on me and I really appreciated it. :) I'll be recovering more gradually over the next couple of weeks, so please don't ask me to lift anything heavy. Doctors orders!

Chris--Your comment made me laugh so hard that it hurt. Problem is, with an incision wound in my belly button, any laughter hurts! :P

He described them as "stroke like symptoms." Apparently he figured out he has a condition where his aortic valves will randomly pump faster than his ventricles. That causes blood to pool and clot, causing "stoke like symptoms" or real strokes.

Valves don't pump, that made no sense lol.

Anyways, that aside, I'm glad i could make you laugh, Paul.

Forgetting to use a coupon, especially after thinking "don't forget to use the $2 off coupon that's in your wallet!" just a few minutes before. At least this time it doesn't expire until Monday so I still have a chance to go back and use it.

Well, arteries do pump, the just don't have valves. Probably some confusion somewhere along the lines.

The greatest sporting event to ever visit outstate Missouri being used (as I predicted when it started three years ago) as a political football. Now the thing's almost out of air, thank you very much Department of Tourism.

Looks like Nixon's not going to get re-elected in 2012 unless Walmart, Garmin or InBev ponies up $1 million.

Yeah, while I hate to see the Tour of Missouri go as much as anyone, if Nixon somehow doesn't get re-elected in 2012, this won't be the reason why.

That's what people said about Mike Bennett and Arlen Specter six months ago.

Granted, Missouri cycling enthusiasts, Pennsylvania Democrats, and Tea Party fanatics are three practically different breeds of people.

(Jeff, the buttons are too freakin' small and I wound up messaging this directly to Paul first! Get some bigger buttons!)

There's a tornado warning KMIZ's viewing area. KMIZ is the local ABC affiliate. Which means they're broadcasting the spelling bee. Except not, because there's a STUPID TORNADO WARNING!!!!

I mean, I understand that it's necessary for safety and all...but still...very annoying!

I raged at this as well. I found it kinda funny that they were mentioning Shelbina, though.
