Re: Things that don't suck
Jeffrey Hill finally passing Bill Stallard to have the highest number of posts on the board. I just noticed. Congrats.

Yeah, and it only took nearly 8 years to catch up. I was going to post when I reached it but I misremembered his post count and passed it without realizing it until a few hours later.DeckardCain wrote:Jeffrey Hill finally passing Bill Stallard to have the highest number of posts on the board. Re: Things that don't suck
To be fair, in terms of substantive posts, Jeff surpassed Bill at least 8 years ago.

You mean that scores of East Buchanan High School football games aren't substantive?scphilli wrote:To be fair, in terms of substantive posts, Jeff surpassed Bill at least 8 years ago.

Re: Things that don't suck
Being given two full pizzas to take home after an Italian dinner party (happened to me this evening). The question now becomes, how do my girlfriend and I eat all of it?
Re: Things that don't suck
My predictions for the Oscars for year 2016 (bear in mind I went to see none of these this year due to being too busy):
Best Picture: La La Land (It has 14 nominations. This is the equivalent of a free space in Bingo.)
Best Director: Damien Chazelle, La La Land
Best Actor: Denzel Washington, Fences (This was a toughie. The situation reminds me of 2001 when Crowe was going to win but the whole thing blew up and who ended up onstage? Denzel. But if it's Casey Affleck I wouldn't be shocked.)
Best Actress: Emma Stone, La La Land (Huppert and Portman would also be worthy. And Meryl Streep over 39 years has 20 noms or roughly one per two years which is crazy.)
Best Supporting Actor: Dev Patel, Lion (I'm going on a ledge here. Ali should win for Moonlight but I'm not sensing passion there and Lion was a sentimental favorite among voters during the voting period. I'm going for the upset here.)
Best Supporting Actress: Viola Davis, Fences (Easy pick. Next.)
Best Original Screenplay: La La Land
Best Adapted Screenplay: Moonlight
Best Animated Feature: Zootopia
Best Cinematography, Production Design, Editing, Costuming, Score, Sound Mixing: La La Land
Sound Editing: Hacksaw Ridge
Makeup and Hairstyling: Star Trek Beyond
Visual Effects: The Jungle Book
Documentary Short: Joe's Violin
Documentary Feature: OJ: Made in America
Live Action Shorts: Silent Nights
Animated Short: Piper
Original Song: "City of Stars" from La La Land
Foreign Film: The Salesman

My beloved Winnipeg Jets winning their last seven games in a row after being eliminated from playoff contention. Frustrating as you-know-what, but those kids will be fun to watch next year!
