Tuscumbia Winter High School Tournament - 12/6/14
Tuscumbia Winter High School Tournament - 12/6/14
Hello coaches,
Tuscumbia High School will be hosting an academic tournament on December 6, 2014 using NAQT's IS-142 question set. This question set is also being used at a tournament in Washington on February 21; as a result, you may not attend both tournaments.
The initial field cap for this tournament is twelve teams. Each team will be guaranteed eight games regardless of performance; that number may rise depending on the number of attending teams. Games will consist of 20 tossups and up to 20 three part 30-point, rebounding bonuses. 15 point powers and 5 point negs will be used on tossups. Math calculation tossups will not be read. This tournament will be a qualifier for NAQT's High School National Championship Tournament; the top 15% of the field will qualify.
Entry fees are as follows:
Base fee: $55
Base fee for second and subsequent teams from the same school: $50
-$5 for each working buzzer set (limit three discounts per school)
$-10 per team traveling over 100 miles one way
Staff discounts will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis and will be awarded based on need.
To register, please send me an email at jloy@tuscumbialions.k12.mo.us stating the number of teams and buzzer systems you plan to bring. We hope to see you in December!
Thank you,
Jason Loy

IS-142 is also assigned to North Kansas City's varsity tournament on January 17.
Re: Tuscumbia Winter High School Tournament - 12/6/14
Due to several generous offers of staffing help, we are now able to slightly expand the field to 14 teams. The field is currently full. I will consider further expanding the field once we're able to find more staff.

Now I wish I went to Mystery School growing up.
What would their mascot be? The Fighting Shadows?

More like the fighting magnifying glass. They incinerate everyone they meet on the football field.dwd50 wrote:Now I wish I went to Mystery School growing up.

Richland A won this tournament, and Hallsville A defeated Washington A in the second place game. Joel from Hallsville was the leading scorer.
