If you're planning to host a tournament (or just thinking about it), make sure you're not going to conflict with any nearby tournaments. Refer to last year's calendar for guidance - most recurring tournaments will be held around the same time this year. If you have any questions about scheduling your tournament, feel free to email MOQBA at moqba@moqba.org and we'll be happy to help. Once you have a confirmed date, please post about it so everyone knows that you're hosting and what date it will be.

The NAQT Missouri Qualifier will probably remain on the first Saturday in March (March 7, 2015), but that is not confirmed yet.

Hallsville will be hosting our Hallsville Invitational Tournament III on February 7th, 2015. We are still working out some of the details (Question Provider, field cap) so a formal announcement is still a few months away. However, if teams wish to register early, we will start developing a field list.

Tuscumbia will be hosting the following, with full announcements to follow:

1) a tournament using NAQT MS-11 on November 8, 2014 with middle school (7th/8th) and elementary (6th and under) divisions

2) a tournament using SCOP Novice on January 17, 2015 with JV (strictly 9th/10th only) and middle school (7th/8th) divisions

Washington will be hosting this year, and I'll get the full announcements up later on.

The High School tournament will be on IS-142 on Feb. 21. As I'm new to this spot, I don't know if there's a chance that it will also end up serving as a GAC meet, or even if they do those still.

The Middle School tournament will be on MS-13 on March 21.

Fort Osage Scholar Bowl will also host a spring tournament on February 28th with 20/20 tossups and bonus. Set will be TBA (but will not be NAQT). Hopefully, we'll see a wide variety of Missouri (and especially KC-area) schools there. A formal announcement will come later in the fall. Thanks, Josh

Correction: in an effort to avoid conflicts with football quarterfinals on November 15th, we are going to move our tournament back a week to November 22nd.

Also, last I heard, Monroe City will be hosting a MSHSAA-format tournament run on Avery questions on January 24th.

Per MACA's Web site, Salem will host a tournament November 15th on MSHSAA Format. Question provider is Questions Galore.

(EDIT) I've learned of two dates for conference tournaments, but as they are closed-field, do we also want to post them here or start a separate thread for them? I'm inclined to do the latter, just to put focus on this particular facet of many teams' season.

NAQT's Website lists Truman High School's sKnow Bowl as being on January 10th, using the same set (IS-141A) as the MOQBA Winter Invitational.

I think I have the high school calendar updated with all known dates. Let me know if there is anything missing or if something is labeled wrong or linking to the wrong thread.

NAQT's Small School National Championship Tournament will be in Atlanta on April 25-26 (the weekend between Districts and Sectionals). Like last year, teams attending this tournament would have to make it their only regular season tournament outside the 250 mile radius AND their only non-Sectionals/State tournament between Districts and Memorial Day weekend.

Reminder to all schools in Northeast and Central Missouri that (almost all) tournaments listed here between January 1st and March 31st can count toward ranking points for your varsity/A team in the inaugural KRES Scholars Cup. Deadline to indicate your school's inclusion is February 6th at 6 p.m. The final date to submit results for consideration is April 3rd at 6 p.m.

Edit: Realized that at least one tournament listed here wouldn't count, as their lone tossup/bonus round doesn't offer enough bonus sets.

Marshall's novice tournament is set for January 24th. Questions written by Marshall's varsity team.

It's a format I've seen used in the past for novice tournaments (both lightning and worksheet rounds are included), but the bonus sets have three parts. Novice teams may not have more than two sophomores, and the sophomores must not have played at any point during their freshman year. Also, it looks like they're also hosting a junior high tournament.

I've been informed that Webster Groves is hosting an NHBB tournament on the B set, and they are looking at February 7th as a date (that's the most likely date; I'll update this once that's the date/building is confirmed).
