I am pleased to announce that Truman State will be hosting the Region 11 SCT this year.
I will provide more details as they become finalized, but here is the current plan.
Location: Baldwin Hall. We'll be meeting in Baldwin 176 (the Little Theater).
Times: I'd like for everyone to arrive by 8:30 so that we can start the rounds promptly at 9. We should end no later than 6 PM.
Field: According to our room reservations, we can accommodate 24 teams initially, including DI and DII (Note: I'm more worried about staff for expanding the field more than rooms, we should be able to get plenty of rooms).
Registration will be done online through NAQT's website.
In order for us to get an idea of team's plans, I would like to request that teams email myself, Jacob O'Rourke, and my co-TD, Jared McNett, with buzzers, staffers, and any other pertinent information (like clocks) that you plan on bringing to the SCT. Our emails are jacob [dot] orourke [dot] 7 [at] gmail [dot] com and jwm7876 [at] truman [dot] edu.
Base Fee: $120 per first team from a school
Second (and subsequent) teams fee: $100 per other team from the same school
Buzzer Discount: $10 per buzzer system
Clock Discount: $5 per clock
Moderator Discount: $30 per qualified moderator (please email us about this before you bring your moderator)
New School Discount: $20 for a school that has not played or hosted a Sectional in 2 years.
Travel Discount: $10 per 200 miles traveled (one-way, as determined by Google Maps).
Scorekeeper Discount: $10 per scorekeeper
I look forward to seeing everybody in Kirksville!
