Re: lalalalala
Nice typo from Fox 4's KC area firework laws summary for this year:
Blue Springs:You can not use bottle rockets, rockets of all types and size and any fireworks that go up in the air and have a cylinder or cartridge that will not burn up completely before landing. Your fireworks must land on your own property and must endanger and person or property. You can only use fireworks on July 1-3 from 10 a.m.-11 p.m., and on July 4 from 10 a.m. to Midnight. If you violate the rules, you could face a fine of at least $25 up to $150, or prison time.

Are you sure that Fox 4's typo (likely given how shoddy their accuracy & CGs are) and not Blue Springs'?U. Lou Sthagaim wrote:Nice typo from Fox 4's KC area firework laws summary for this year:

So true, particularly trying to find parking information. Even after you find it in my experience it's been difficult to confirm from many university websites whether or not parking is free on weekends or after a certain time on weekdays, for instance.
Speaking of which, Liberty High School's website isn't all that great, mainly because it's designed and primarily maintained by students in one of the web design courses. [Edit again: I probably shouldn't single out LHS's website... there are many more I've seen that could use some work]

I sent this to my roommate and his friend, who both work for the University of Missouri System in the communications department. They both agree. Too bad decisions like this at the UM System are made by committee.

Interestingly enough, the record for number of users online got broken on Tuesday (I believe the previous record had been set the evening after last WUHSAC)

Can't technically speak for anyone else, but Google does wonders. I found real easily as well (first link on the first autocomplete suggestion).Mewto55555 wrote:How did you find that?
On a side note, while it was amusing to see that clip, it's probably not good for my image/impression of you, since I have yet to actually meet you...

A moment ago, Chad Kubichek was asking me on FB chat how library school was going. I replied that I could DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) almost anything.Machina wrote:Ohhhh...the things that happen on Facebook chat...
So he asks me, "What would the DDC be on a set of quizbowl questions."
I initially thought 000's because they're miscellaneous. But I checked and it looks like quizbowl would be classified under DDC 794--Indoor games of skill.
So Chad (who seems to know his DDC) asked me, "Would Chip Beall's questions be under 795? "
DDC 795 is games of chance.

Can't post this under Things that suck or under Things that don't suck for fear of offending people.

Re: lalalalala
So I had one of the biggest roadsign fails ever on a winter break road trip to Dallas.
I got into Henryetta, Oklahoma, at US 75 and Interstate 40. There was a big sign coming into town:
WELCOME TO HENRYETTA
HOME OF WORLD FAMOUS COWBOYS
(SOMEBODY OR OTHER)
AND TROY AIKMAN
I saw this and I seriously thought: "Troy Aikman was never in the rodeo, was he??"

It's ok, most people tried not to think about those Cowboys for the past few months anyways.

Especially when said Cowboy that wasn't really a cowboy in the eyes of his hometown had to endure it. As a color commentator. Next to Joe Buck.dividebyzero wrote:

I've always been crazy and the trouble that it's put me through
Been busted for things that I did and I didn't do
I can't say I'm proud of all of the things that I've done
But I can say that I've never intentionally hurt anyone
I've always been different, with one foot over the line
Winding up somewhere one step ahead or behind
It ain't been so easy, but I guess I shouldn't complain
I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from going insane
Beautiful lady, are you sure that you understand
The chances you're taking loving a free-living man?
Are you really sure you really want what you see?
Be careful of something that's just what you want it to be
I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from going insane
Nobody knows if it's something to bless or to blame
So far, I ain't found a rhyme or a reason to change
I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from going insane

Re: lalalalala
Just wondering: were there actually 327 members online the other day (seems very unlikely) or are we just really popular with the bots?
