I finally got up and went to Philosophy of Mind at noon and Social Inequalities at 1. Then I went to the mall, did some shopping, got a haircut, and now I'm chillaxing.
Is your skipping of class or your lack of sleep what sucked? Your day actually sounded quite productive.

In the course of sleep deprivation and Citizen Kane induced madness, I've decided that I want to be Orson Welles when I grow up.

Just fell asleep three separate times in the same fifteen minute car ride. I don't know how that's possible, but I definitely did..

I was staying with my parents in Cuba over the weekend and my mother gave me two allergy pills this morning; my allergies have been on fire for the last week. The pills knocked me out like a light; I was more than half-asleep on the nearly 90-minute drive to work this morning. :(

Orson Welles circa 1941 or Orson Welles circa 1980 (when the only work he could get was bad TV commercials)??

Um...lack of sleep, for sure. Though missing class was not what I wanted to do, I think two fully-awake classes is better than four almost-asleep classes.

Sneezing, and having a painful spasm from your abs that ends up with your laptop banging into your forehead from curling into the fetal position too fast.

Also, losing the game because of a question at the tournament yesterday

There's a record label in Germany that does massive CD collections (mostly for obsessive completists like myself) of old country and pop singers, some dating to the 1920's. I love their collections, especially since I like the older music anyway. Problem is, on their website, all of the descriptions are in German! :( This collection I was looking at this morning is a good example.

Got my full GRE scores today. My writing score was lower than I expected. Wasn't bad, but I'm a better writer than the score indicates. My verbal score though was in the 88th percentile. :D

Having a test at 9 am and not being completely ready...and thus getting up 45 minutes earlier than normal to do some extra-last-minute studying (read: cramming).

On a good note - I think I will be sleeping a lot this afternoon...

Missing the NAQT qualifier to go to Lexington, the latter being snowed out, and our coach suggesting that we go to the rescheduled Lexington tournament next weekend instead of Truman. NOT happening.

This. But also contradictorily, Northern Iowa for screwing over my bracket. The good news is that all of you who have Kansas winning overall are even more screwed than me.

Driving back to KC yesterday. I don't think I have spent a longer period of time without changing lanes. We were going around 40 most of the way. It's amazing we didn't see any accidents (just a few individual cars run off the road), as many people (including stupid semis) were passing us at ridiculous speeds.

On the bright side, as Uday will be in India, I get to be captain for the first time, so that's something.

Gmail's spam filter, apparently. It's flagged 3 legitimate emails as spam in the last week. (For those of you Gmail users who have staffed HSNCT before and haven't received Joel's invite sent this morning, you might check your spam folder as it was one of the three aforementioned emails marked as spam.)

On a related note - one time I was looking in Thunderbird (Mozilla's desktop mail client) for an email I sent and one of the emails I clicked on that I sent was marked as "Thunderbird thinks this is a scam".

Just heard today that the director of Marching Mizzou is leaving to go to another school in Wisconsin (I don't know exactly where; the official email only went out to music majors and minors).

He is one of the reasons I came to Mizzou... I can only hope that the new director, whoever he/she is, can approximate the level of coolness that we had with MDK.

Dr. Knight - you will always be a part of the Marching Mizzou family. Unless you took a job at KU. ;)

Oh god, kpop. The only good thing I can say about Kpop is that Lee Hyori is hot.

This makes getting an Asian girlfriend that much harder because she'll insist that I listen to it. It's a plague upon us...

As a small gesture for Earth Day, I walked to the QuikTrip to get my coffee fix instead of driving there. This was before I realized there's almost no sidewalks on the roughly half-mile walk between here and QT. :( This is why I like living in the city. Sidewalks everywhere. 8)
