C3D7: Hallsville for sure.

I know so little about any other district I don't even want to make predictions.

Most ridiculous district assignment ever.

Then the winner plays Savannah.
Most ridiculous sectionals assignment ever.

Out of arguably 3 of the best 4 teams in the state, only one will actually go to state. I hate MSHSAA.

BUt as we're doing predictions, since it's QG i predict a state final between Alvin and the Chipmunks and the Ghost of Charlie Dees.

I'd like to note that our sectional (D7/D8) is pretty bad too. Whereas (not to sound heartless here), NKC & Liberty have always had the issue of only one among the two (three, if Savannah had been in Class 4) going to State, the schools now in Districts 7/8 used to send two schools to State each year (last year, Kirksville and Hickman) and this year will only send one, even though 4 (FHC, FZW, Kirksville, and Hickman) could be competitive there.

I'm just happy to be out of the NKC/Liberty district and to be playing against other schools that are closer to Truman. Last year I think Truman was the only school south of the river to play in districts (William Chrisman and Ft. Osage were a no show even though they had teams). This year if we win districts we will play the winner of D 15 (LSN), which is better then going up against NKC/Liberty/Savannah. I know Michael has said this before but the sectional winner of D 14/15 has the easiest road to state in Class 4 (outside the big schools in southern Missouri) I feel bad for Park Hill, Park Hill South, and Kearney. All 3 schools have great teams yet are going to lose to either NKC/Liberty/Savannah. Park Hill was talking about going to HSNCT. They beat us at conference. Park Hill South beat us at Smithville. Yet they are cows going to slaughterhouse.

I wouldn't be so quick to say they have no chance. It's Kweshuns Galol!

Yeah Park Hill is good at bad questions, don't count them out.
I don't know whether they are good or bad on good questions because I have not seen them play such, though i believe they came to our tournament and at least made the playoffs, so not bad.

I remember beating Park Hill at NKC NAQT in the morning rounds by a lot, but I don't remember the score. Like I said, they beat us at conference (using NAQT questions) and at quad finals with only 3 players (we didn't have michael, I think he might have been in France/Minnesota maybe?) Both times they beat us though it was close. Didn't they make like the top 4 teams at Lexington?

They did make the top 4 at lexington, but we beat them sans Brandon in the semis. And that was on Kweshchuns Guhlorrrrrrrrr, and one of the worst packets that QG ever produced (and that's saying something) , so that doesn't mean anything.

C2D4 I have Belle.

It's my old team and they're really strong this year. Last year with a weaker lineup they came within 1 point of beating Valley Park in the final round (~20 points)

As I hear it, Belle v Valley Park IS C2D4 districts this year.

FYI, my current scenario has NKC winning State, with FHC a close 2nd, PCH 3rd, and Clayton 4th.

on good questions, i would tend to agree with you will, but...

Given Kirksville's aptitude for trash, math, and spelling, they might even stop FHC from getting to state, even though Hang is a far better player than anyone else on the eastern half of the state. And we have to beat Liberty and Savannah, so who knows. I hate MSHSAA/QG, i'm determining the best team in the state based off of Mizzou tournament, the NAQT state, Rolla Spring, and records at nationals.

Oh no, this has nothing to do with finding the best teams in the state. These are just my predictions (largely based on chance in that I rolled dice to determine the winners) of what will happen.

We are losing two team members pretty early in the competition and Cameron may or may not be there for the playoff rounds.

I think that George at least neutralizes Ravi's advantage in math. Given that spelling only runs at 2-3 tossups per game and I don't know why you think they're better at trash (another 2-3 tossups at worst), I don't think we'd win due to that.

By the way, why do you always call me "Hang?" I don't mind--I was just mildly curious. It's...interesting. :)

Such is one of the drawbacks of having multiple people in quizbowl who share your first name.

I usually refer to you as Hang too. Just an easier way to distinguish you guys than saying Charles Dees and Charles Hang.

Uh...lol, I was asking Spencer, Matt, but I guess I should have thought of that. :)

I don't know--I just call myself Charles and him Charlie. It works. *Shrug* Anyway, thanks for clarifying. :)

Well I think he was just giving the most logical answer. Either way, it was Grant that called you Hang so I think you were asking him.
