District Results Are In

Post by missouriacademic »

District Results came online on the MSHSAA website at 12:16 this morning. (Thanks for the time, tjeffschool. I saw your post, went to the site and my computer crashed approximately five seconds later.) The results are copied at the bottom of this post, if you're too lazy to go there

Some observations:

Several state tournament regulars are absent from this year's tournament. Koshkonong, Bernie, College Heights Christian, Lexington, Cape Girardeau Central, Nixa, and probably some others (my memory of state tournaments only goes back a few years).

All four defending state championship teams led their class in points scored. This is extremely evident in Classes 1 and 2 (close to what I expected for Class 1, but there were a few teams I expected to be closer to Richland). I personally do not put much stock in point comparisons: from what I have experienced, if a game is not close, some teams are more motivated to put up a lot of points than are other teams. However, in this instance the difference is pretty remarkable.

Finally, my rankings system (and some predictions based on it) did not hold up. I'll do better next year

lexington is by far the biggest suprise not to make it, I'm sure kenny's face was mighty red and i'm sure the kids got a good yelling after that. I guess the 2000 2nd place district trophy will not be as lonely in the corner of the trophy case at LHS

I'm still incredulous as to how Ava lost to Strafford...Ava looked like it was off to a promising start.
