All Adaptec had to do was build in in a TV tuner and they sell 10 times as fast as it did in the November woot...

Wonder if it'll beat the 2000+ posts the other one did in the November woot-off...

One of my favorites was when it took forever to sell the USB Microdrive and a bunch of people photoshopped it into picture...
Image

Of course I'm sure there have been better photoshop things going on before

Well the refurb (rox0rz!) DVD player has beaten the GameBridge for longest wootoff killer (based on comments at least) with still 13% left...

The server actually didn't crap out on the carrots! I got to the order form easily but I took forever to enter my info and they were obviously sold out.

OK it looks like they've had 3 in a row... the crappy DVD player, first BOC, then the keyboard thing, then another BOC, then something else, then a third BOC... of course now that I've actually saved my information for quick ordering it's not going to pop up again. I bet they spread it out so the server had less of a chance to crash since more people would get a sold out message.

People getting BOC order confirmation e-mails from woot?

I'm not sure if it means anything but some people have pointed out in the forums that the bag of crap is listed above the current item on the community forums list of woots... that might mean a fourth round after the music system sells out. Of course, it probably doesn't but still a possibility.

The domain lapsed today they had to re-register the umb.com domain for the email part of it.

We spent 2 hours looking for a reason in the servers, when Accounts payable had an email about it

BOC 16.4
What's going on here?
We got your order. Hang on a second while we check our inventory to make sure we have enough stuff available to fill your order.
You can stick around to make sure your order goes through, or just leave and check your account page later. If sale's listed there, it means everything went fine. If it's not, it means your order got denied.
I'm sure I won't get one but just might...
--edit--I'm in line... which basically means I lose again.
--edit again--Nope, they're all gone.

This idea is actually pretty retarded to do this more than 2 or 3 times... since people KNOW there will be more, the servers will get worse every time they put it back up... plus I wonder if people who already got one are able to create a new account and get another set of 3 on the next round. Hopefully they IP block people from doing that.

And every time I get to the order page, I almost always forget to click I want three and then once I do I miss it actually register the change and delay myself even more.

That's funny...

I don't have too many classes tomorrow, but I need to study for my linear algebra test on Friday...

Woot is brilliant...

Today they put up random crap at $1,000,001. And if I had just read the first paragraph of the description and thought about it for about 3 seconds I would have figured out the trick. But no, I tried to order it at $1,000,001 thinking it might just charge $1.
First paragraph of 4/1/2007 Woot Description wrote:Whatever happened to common courtesy? Used to be people understood the value of politeness, the power of a simple gesture to keep the social wheels greased. It’s amazing what one magic word can be worth, at just the right moment. But hey, you’re not here for a lecture on manners. You’re here for the crap.
People (including myself) just aren't very courteous when it comes to bags of crap. I had to make a new account to be able to order it using the coupon code. I got my first bag of crap though. Woot!

They need to do coupon code riddles and such with future bags of crap... it works very well.

My carrots are scheduled to get here on Monday.

I hope today's woot (a combo iPod dock + 5 port USB hub) doesn't sell out and comes up in the next wootoff. I already have the dock that came with my antique iPod and a 4 port hub but I wouldn't mind spending $20 for one to help advance a wootoff for once. Although as I expected a review to which somebody linked says it won't charge a 3G (which is what I have).

Oh, and I did buy one set of Four for Fuesday USB cables with about 20 minutes to spare.

--edit--
They sold that iPod dock/USB hub I passed up a couple of weeks ago around 6 AM... I don't really need it anyway

And of course if I hadn't bought the Fuesday cables last Fuesday I could have gotten them a dollar cheaper AND helped very slightly to advance a wootoff... it's looking like somewhat of a wootoff killer

aww, poor bill. naw, i'm really lazy when it comes to uploading things online--i'm definitely not putting a picture on two different sites. haha.

does anyone else think it's kind of sad and pathetic that a non-school work environment would block facebook?

NKC definitely did. I can't see a lot of the caturday photos I posted. Our school district blocks really weird stuff. Once i tried to go to jeopardy's website and they said it was blocked.

Hmm... does your filter show a reason or category why the site was blocked? Liberty's does now.

Wonder if it thinks it's a "game"... Liberty at one point blocked the Nobel Prize website because it had games on it and it got caught because of that keyword.

Random question... do they block Google image search? They did at Liberty because it's a district-wide filter and they were concerned about elementary kids inadvertently coming upon explicit photos. Of course, images.google.co.uk, etc. weren't blocked.

They could just direct all the kiddies to Google China so there won't be any politically sensitive images to shock them.

when i sub secondary i spend a lot of time online, and inadvertantly some site i try to go to (beyond facebook and xanga) will be blocked and say it's because it's porn, and i'm like whaa? but then i feel bad because i'm signed on as my mom, or as the teacher if they've left their login info, haha.
