NAQT ICT @ Chicago

Post by socalcaptain »

The 2010 ICT has been announced for Chicago on the weekend of April 9-10. As of now, it seems as if we'll be going with either an all-day Saturday or a Friday-Saturday schedule.

WashU (D1), Mizzou (D1), and Truman (D2) have earned bids to ICT, in addition to Missouri State's hosting bid.

If we go F/S, then I'm not entirely sure that Mizzou can commit - neither Charlie nor I is very thrilled to have to miss class to go to a tournament. Flying isn't really a convenient nor economical option, since we'd have to drive to STL anyway and by that time we might as well just drive the rest of the way. If they want rounds to start around 5 or 6, then we'd have to leave Columbia by 10 or 11 in the morning on Friday, which means I miss all but one class.

An all-day Saturday schedule is much, much better. That means we can leave Columbia after class, and arrive in time to check in at the hotel, get a good night's sleep, and be good to go for ICT.

Is WashU, Truman, or MSU planning on going, and if so, is anyone going to go if we have to leave Friday morning?

I fully expect Joel Gluskin to email me anytime about staffing. I plan to take that Friday off work to go and drive up there. But I hate my job, so taking a day off (without pay, even) is no problem to me. 8)

I would say this means we can accept our bid, correct?
