Changes to the DSM

Post by LibertyMarie » Sun Feb 14, 2010 1:50 pm ... t=1&f=1001

So Asperger's is no more. Autism professionals* have long viewed Asperger's as mild autism, but for it to be's interesting, that's all, *shrug.* I mean, the two were diagnosed by different people at the same time, or else they probably would've been the same thing all along, but I still find it interesting that they have actually been consolidated.

Also, cutting and binge eating have been added to the DSM as disorders.

*I teach little kids with severe autism, for what it's worth, lol.
