Spam emails.
I'm now reduced to checking my email in a library, since my aunt somehow managed to delete the hard drive on her computer. After being forced to sign up for a library card to be allowed to use the computer, I take the time to clear out the ~600 spam emails I've gotten in the past week or so. As I'm doing this, the reference librarian happens to look over my shoulder, and what should the next email be but a demonstration of the benefits of Viagra.

Yeah, but the intertubes steal your CCs and mail them to bank managers in Nigeria. Didn't you hear? I thought that was a required course at Rolla.East Buc & UMR wrote: newegg has ram dirt cheap all the time.

Nothing wrong... Mind interputs what you want it to.
I was just pointing out that if you are a moron with your CC numbers on the net then you would end up like chris' post. Other wise the net is very safe.
On top of that I think it has been well known my thoughts on TSU students :S

Having to wipe per DOD standards 2.1 TB of harddrives.
What sucks even more we have to do it three times, then when we are done we get to physically destroy them.

What's worse is getting it stolen right out of your hand walking back to school from Subway. Then your school's officer says its a waste of his time to let me look at kids pictures to identify the kid. Then to be called in a week later to do the exact same looking that I volunteered to do, by which time the theif had already sold it off, so nothing ended up being done to him, and I saw him frequently afterwards in NKC's hallways.

Nope.Do you get to play with a big magnet?
I use a Unix program one of our guys wrote. It first randomly deletes files off the drive. Then writes all zero's to the drive and finally randomly adds one's to the drive. We do this three times (retarded I know).
After all this we have a company come in and they use a hydrolic press that shoots a rod into the drive.

At least it's not Christmas and people don't try to screw you out of presents by giving you one to cover both holidays. (my birthday isn't anywhere near Christmas but I know people who do have them then)S.C.Mitchell07 wrote: Sharing a birthday with the nation...

The fact that even though Earth is about as far away from the Sun as it's going to be, it's still very hot.
Also the fact that my house doesn't have air conditioning.

Forgetting to realize that Priority Mail to CA is cheaper with a flat rate box... stupid post office didn't have any out when I went. At least the book was light enough that the difference was less than a dollar
Though the Automated Postal Center is otherwise something that definitely doesn't suck.

ditto to the exchange rate, but you'll probably find that the flight isn't so bad.LibertyMarie wrote: 10 hours on a plane. with a mere ONE HOUR layover somewhere in there. and having to stay in a hostel the first night. : P

KSDK pre-empting a thursday night primetime show AGAIN for stupid local programming...
If I were in Rolla, being approximately the same distance from Springfield, Columbia, and St. Louis I could tune to one of the other two NBC stations Fidelity carries...
Though something that doesn't suck: being able to watch shows online the next day

Also, I'm a bit perplexed as to why Mizzou's own TV station ISN'T included on cable package plans down there. MST could always build a UHF translator/repeater tower that covers Phelps County...

Define stupid local programming. You should be surprised that a Gannett station is even providing local programming to begin with!!ScoBo1987 wrote: KSDK pre-empting a thursday night primetime show AGAIN for stupid local programming...

Charter Communications.
Here's a math tossup: Jeffrey has Charter cable+internet that costs him a total of $65 [which includes all taxes and fees] a month. His current bill is for service from December 11 to January 10. However, he will be moving out of his apartment on December 22 and thus will not have service as of December 23. FTP, how much should Jeffrey have to pay by the due date of December 25?
Apparently Charter doesn't know how to calculate this until my service is officially disconnected. Although I'm sure as crappy as they are, they're probably doing this intentionally so that I accidentally miss my due date and they can charge me late fees. At least the due date is after the disconnection date.
What do you expect from a company that has squatted chartersucks.com, chartersucks.net, chartersucks.org, chartersux.com, chartercablesucks.com, chartercomplaints.com, and probably more... (yes, other companies have protected their respective companynamesucks.com, but I doubt they have claimed as many variants as Charter has)
