Since State's May 7.

Because State falls on May 7, 2005 (5/7/05), who wants to writes haikus about Scholar Bowl. Again, haikus have a 5-7-5 syllable pattern, hence the Possible Coincidence:

Haikus about brains
Possible Coincidence
Future champs certain

Have fun.

Am I the only one coming up with haikus?

Is Mueller a Fish?
We all "school" one another.
Hence, we all have gills.

The final tossup:
Gary Cooper saved the day
And snatched the trophy.

A small world indeed.
An old rival's relative
Too calls Northeast home.

Okay I am.

Ramza Goltana,
Your haiku does not relate
To brain bowl at all.

Even if the match
Is that the obese mother
Does not play quiz bowl.

Therefore, resubmit
A haiku pertinent to
The sport of the mind.

Quiz Bowl, It is Time
for nerds to get their game on.
Better be quiet.

Purdy, my next match.
Struggle, it surely will be.
Better sleep soundly.

I'm not good at Haikus, can't yall tell?

It's good practice. Keep working on it.

If there's a question at state pertaining to haikus, please note that it's pure coincidence and that I had nothing to do with it because I have no established contacts with the big wigs off Keane Street.

Okay, here are my submissions:

Savannah High School,
A really great quiz bowl team
In northwest MO state.

Quiz bowl, full of nerds,
No rich handsome doctors here?
That's why girls don't play.

Maverick Questions,
The best you can buy in MO
And help a redhead.

Yeah, I know, not great, but they're the biggest accomplishment of my day.

Those are good.

^_^

Well, almost. I just counted the syllables and the last line in the second haiku has six.

I'd like to go out with you.
Too bad you hate me.

This year the title is mine.
Truman must be stopped.

In respone to your second one:

Wichita calls out
For champions and scholars.
Tigers don't bother.

Lest we forget that
We're not the only two schools
After each other.

Bill, you could have added two lines! Something like "The Fish must be stopped" or comparable five-syllable entry.

Duly corrected.
Your reign will not last for long.
The ghost of Tom reigns.

The machine lives on
Through the growl of the Bulldogs:
Princeton of the Plains.

In an unrelated haiku....

War of Words lingers.
Fire Seventeen bullets
Into the psyche.

Mueller knows not Tom.
Some Democrat that Fish is.
Tom was the master.

Were it not for Tom,
Missouri's sole president:
One-day accident.

I learned yesterday
Of Oklahoma's intent
To drive to Rolla.
