L-Town, any word yet on when this is going to be? I didn't even know we had a tournament at Truman... I'd go watch if not otherwise occupied.
Where do you hold it, anyway? The classrooms in Violette?

We're probably going to hold it ca. January 29, and it's just for college teams. If you want to observe or help I'd be much obliged. And yes: we'd probably be in Violette.

(Please wait for formal confirmation from Scogs.)

If you needed the help and I didn't have a conflict I'd do it. I know we can't participate, but I'd at least go watch.

I e-mailed Scogs about your interest, and I hope he doesn't flip out.

What colleges have you looked at so far? We're going to need a sufficient replacement for Maddog after this year.

1st choice: Carleton
2nd: Wesleyan
3rd: Amherst or Tufts
4th: Oberlin or Wooster
If all else fails: Truman If it were anywhere else (where I didn't know every single person in town already), it'd probably be one of my top schools, but I really have to get away for awhile.

I trust the scholarships will come flowing your way. I bet the cheapest of those is at least twice Truman's tuition + room/board/fees.

But those look a little better on a Resume than Truman

It's cheap already, and when you add in Bright Flight and a faculty discount it would be essentially free. So I'm hoping for lots of scholarships from the others.

Oh. I just made the connection.

My old roommate was in your dad's botany class last spring but dropped it when he fell behind.

Kyle just so you guys know there is a New tournament this year called the ATC it is hosted on several campus across the nation. One being UIUC. However it is the same weekend as BL. I'm really thinking of sending at least one UMR team to both, but it is looking tempting. I think you guys should poll the attendees last year and see if they are planning on going to ATC.

That actually does sound like an interesting tourney. Builds up question writers.
Actually, I'm not 100% certain about the Jan. 29 date. I hope we don't settle for Jan. 22 for obvious reasons.

It sounds like nothing's going on that day. Do you still need help and who should I email about helping with the tournament?

We only heard from Arkansas, so Scogs is pushing it back to a date in March (please await for official word on Yahoo!'s Message Board)

We'll talk about who's going on Feb. 5. At the way things are looking, I anticipate one of each. Again, please await for official word from Scogs.

120 buck base fee are you guys kidding me???? The only tournament that cost that much are Nationals and SCT. Plus with writting the questions in house it should only be 80 tops. I can only imagine you have priced most teams out of it(including UMR, and we have some deep pocket)

Wasn't Brainal Leakage I only 50 bucks? Besides, I think that's the same weekend as TRASHionals, which (barring a financial disaster) we'll be attending.
