2019 Titan Tournament - Lee's Summit West High School

Post by seth.brummond »

Greetings Coaches!

You and your team(s) are cordially invited to attend the Titan Tournament January 5th, 2019! Dakota Wallace and I are the Lee's Summit West High School Scholar Bowl Coaches and we are excited to continue to offer (and slightly expand) the tournament offered in the past.

This tournament will use the 2018 NAQT SSNCT question set. It is your responsibility to ensure that your team has not previously heard this question set and will not compete in any other tournaments using this set. In addition to NAQT Small School Nationals last April, the set is currently assigned to these other Missouri tournaments:

* Glendale Fall Invitational on October 20
* Sullivan Invitational on February 2

If you attend one of these other tournaments, your school is ineligible to participate in this tournament. Question set assignments are subject to change at any time; a list of tournaments known to be using the set is available at https://www.naqt.com/schedule/assigned- ... et_id=2943

We will have two pools of play, a Varsity and a Junior Varsity level. We will be announcing tournament specifics towards the middle of December. Junior varsity rosters are restricted to Freshman/Sophomore only. You are welcome to field any student on your varsity team.

We will divide the field into preliminary pools that will each play a round robin in the morning, after which teams will be bracketed again into playoff and consolation pools for the afternoon. All teams will play approximately 9 matches throughout the day (based on a targeted 18 team field). Round 1 will begin by 9 AM, and we anticipate finishing the afternoon rounds around 4 PM, with the top couple of teams potentially playing one or two more matches after that. In order to provide the best experience and maximum playing time for all participants, please plan to stay for all of your scheduled matches.

Each pool will have 18 teams (Varsity and JV). Please limit your individual team rosters to 8 players or less. In my follow up email, I will ask for your rosters. Lunch will be provided to your teams at the cost of $5 per person.

Entry fees:
1 team: $55
2 teams: $105
Lunch per person: $5
Discounts:
$10 for a fully functional buzzer system
$10 for an approved veteran moderator

To register, please complete the Google Form here: https://goo.gl/forms/9sW3NdzmJtlGFawZ2 . Your registration is not official until you have received an email from the tournament director confirming your spot in the field.

Thank you for your consideration and time in the TT2019. We look forward to seeing you at our event!
