Oakhill Day School Middle School Quiz Bowl tournament (3/10)

Post by srawh » Fri Feb 23, 2018 3:10 pm

Saturday March 10th - Oakhill Day School Middle School
Quiz Bowl tournament

Please join Oakhill Day School for the first annual Quiz Bowl Tournament for middle school players.
Below you will find all the information you need, as well as a registration form to enter your team. If you have any questions, please contact the Oakhill Quiz Bowl Coach, Cody WalkerHolmes or the Director of Auxiliary Services, Kathryn Dodson.

We hope to see you there!

Date: Saturday, March 10th, 2018. (Deadline to register Thursday, March 1st, 2018)

Place: Oakhill Day School-South Campus. 6910 N. Holmes, Gladstone, MO 64118

Time: Registration 8:00-8:30; Coaches meeting 8:30; competition begins 9:00.

If we get enough teams to sign up, we might have two sets of games playing—a lower division for teams without 8th graders and an upper division for teams with 8th graders (8th grade only or a mix of 6th-8th). Please indicate on your invoice/registration, how many teams are coming and the grade make up of each team.

The format will be as follows: Each round consists of 3 periods: 1st-20 tossups; 2nd-20 item worksheet; 3rd – 15 tossups with 2-part bonus. We have a former Smithville High School Scholar Bowl player on staff who will assist the Director of Auxiliary Services with creating the questions for the tournament.

The first place team will receive a trophy. Second place team members will receive a certificate. There will also be certificates for the top 3 individual scorers that day.

Since this is a fun meet, there is only a small fee to attend. The cost is $15 for the first team and $10 for each extra team. We ask that you bring a buzzer system so we have enough for everyone to play. We will have some snack items available that morning for you to enjoy.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. We will send you a registration form via email.
See you March 10th!
