The Missouri Academic Coaches Association (MACA) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting this year's JV State tournament on March 10th at Helias High School. This tournament is open to ALL freshmen and sophomore players (NO juniors or seniors).

Games will consist of 20 tossups worth ten points each, followed by three-part rebounding bonuses worth up to thirty points. Tossups will NOT include powers or negs. The questions will be provided by Olympia Academic Competition Questions.
We anticipate using two full round robins in the morning and afternoon with an advantaged final to decide the champion depending on the number of teams registered.
Plaques will be awarded to the top two overall finishers and the top two small schools (under 500 enrollment in grades 10-12, public, nonselective). Large and small schools will play in the same division.

Base fee (first team from each school): $75 (teams will receive a $15 discount if they provide a scorekeeper or moderator)
Second or subsequent teams: $55
Buzzer discount (must work for eight players; limit two per school): -$5
Minimum entry fee: $20

To register, please e-mail me at to reserve your spot. Please include number of teams, buzzers, moderators and scorekeepers in your email. We look forward to seeing you in March.

MACA President

Thank you for attending the MACA JV State tournament last Saturday at Helias High School. It was great to see so many enthusiastic, young players at one tournament. The future of your teams looks very bright. The coaches association appreciates your attendance at this event and also very much appreciates that Helias volunteered their facilities and their help in organizing and staffing it.

Thank you to all the wonderful workers who helped staff this event. Without your help we wouldn't have been able to make this possible: Stephen, Brooke, Ben, Justin, Ayla, Christa, Makayla, Selena, Samuel, Dustin Bax, David Dennis, Shelley Swoyer, Amy Sternke, Ginger Luetkemeyer (and son), Audrey Brandon and Lisa Sparrow.

Washington A beat Hickman in the first game of an advantaged final to claim first in the Large School division. Hickman took second. Hallsville finished ahead of Tuscumbia in the playoffs to claim 1st in the Small School division with Tuscumbia taking second.

Once again thank you for attending and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
