North Kansas City hosted their annual JV tournament on the SCOP Novice question set today. With 24 teams, this was the largest NKC JV tournament run on pyramidal questions, and possibly ever if none of their earlier events reached that mark! Belton A went undefeated to win the tournament after finishing the day with a 260-190 win in the first game of an advantaged final over second place Raytown. St. Pius X took home the third place trophy after answering the overtime tossup correctly in their round 9 game against Lee's Summit North that was effectively the third place game.
There were a lot of great performances today from both perennial contenders as well as schools that haven't been as active on the circuit in recent years. I was especially pleased to see that every team had at least one win and averaged over 100 points per game over the day. I'm eager to see these young players continue to improve and look forward to more great Kansas City tournaments throughout this and upcoming seasons. Thanks to the North Kansas City team for hosting another great tournament!
