Fall Recent Events Challenge, week of Sep. 28

Post by bdavery »

Avery Enterprises announces our annual Fall Recent Events Challenge, which will take place during the week starting Mon. Sept. 28.

If you've played before, the rules haven't changed. We have 2 schools from Missouri signed up already, as well as schools from 5 other states. We anticipate 15-20 states total, as in previous years.

If you would like to play quizbowl against 15-20 other states without leaving your classroom, sign up today! We have both HS and MS divisions.

Rules and sign-up at

Bump...we have schools from MO playing, as well as from 15 other states at the HS level and 6 at the MS level. If you've never actually played against 15 other states in the same tournament before, sign up today at the link above!

Seeing as how the Missouri Quiz Bowl season cannot start until October 9th, any team from Missouri that would participate during the week of Sept. 28th would be at risk of jeopardizing their entire Quiz Bowl season should MSHSAA decide to penalize them.

We had schools from 21 states, including two from MO who apparently should remain nameless to keep them out of some bureaucratic quagmire or other. But one of them tied for 4th, having played before, and said their team really liked it.

We will do the other one for the year during the week of Jan. 11, which should be within the official calendar.
