Post 2015 MACA JV State Tournament
The Missouri Academic Coaches Association (MACA) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting this year's JV State tournament on March 14th at Helias High School. This tournament is open to ALL freshmen and sophomore players (NO juniors or seniors).

Games will consist of 20 tossups worth ten points each, followed by three-part rebounding bonuses worth up to thirty points. Tossups will not include powers or negs.
We anticipate using two full round robins in the morning and afternoon with an advantaged final to decide the champion depending on the number of teams registered. The field will be divided into a large and small school division if we have a sufficient number of teams registered. We will be limiting each school to two teams (maximum of 6 players per team) and placing any subsequent teams from that school on the waitlist. This will help to ensure that all schools interested in competing have a chance to enter a team.

base fee (first team from each school): $60
second or subsequent teams: $55
buzzer discount (must work for eight players; limit two per school): -$5
each team entered must provide a competent staffer (moderator or score keeper)

To register, please e-mail me at to reserve your spot. We look forward to seeing you in March.

Tournament Directors,
Scott Allen, Jason Loy, Alex Dzurick, Shelley Swoyer

Post Re: 2015 MACA JV State Tournament
We had 18 teams for this tournament. Everything ran very smoothly because we had an amazing staff. We finished early in the morning so teams had an extra long lunch break and yet we still finished all of the consolation rounds by 3:00 pm. There was a three way tie after the play-off round (Washington A, Washington B, Rock Bridge A). Washington A beat Rock Bridge A (400-330) to advance to play Washington B in the championship match which Washington A won (450-270). Washington A is the 2015 MACA JV State Large School champion while Washington B took home the second place plaque.
In the Small School division, Hallsville beat Tuscumbia in an advantaged final (370-170) to win the 2015 MACA JV State Small School championship. Tuscumbia took home the second place plaque.
A big thanks to all those who helped staff for the tournament: Jeffrey Hill, Jason Loy, Shelley Swoyer, David Dennis, Audrey Connor, Greg Irwin, Jared Lockwood, Josh Null, Logan Hansen, Joel Adams, Alex Harmata, Jackson Atkins, Will Hubbs, Caleb Young, Caleb Ashlock, Brittany Jones, and Sam Lockwood.

The stats for the tournament are below:
