Centralia High School is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the Second Annual Centralia Autumn Academic Tournament on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Centralia High School in Centralia, MO. This tournament will be open to all Varsity-level teams, but feel free to bring B teams and beyond.
This tournament is a regular difficulty event that will use BELLOCO, written by Bellarmine College Preparatory.
Games will consist of 20 tossups with three-part, non-rebounding bonuses. The exact schedule for the tournament will depend on the final field size, but teams should expect to be divided into preliminary pools that will each play a round robin, followed by a rebracketing into championship and consolation pools. If the field fills, all teams should expect to play 10 games, ending around 4:00, with any necessary finals and tiebreakers following.
Pricing for this tournament is:
• First team from a school: $60
• Subsequent teams: $55 each
• Experienced moderator: -$20 (we will have to approve the moderator before we give the discount, so email the host about this before bringing your moderator to the tournament)
• Buzzer discount: -$5 for each fully-functional buzzer system, maximum of two (must work for 8 players to receive the discount)
The field is limited to the first 18 teams to register. If the field fills, additional teams will be placed on a waitlist; if a registered team drops, waitlisted teams will be contacted in the order registration requests were received to fill the available spots.
To register, email Ryan Kennedy at ryan.kennedy@catnet.gen.mo.us with the number of teams and any discounts you will be using. Please note that you are not officially registered until you receive an email confirming that your registration was received and accepted.
We anticipate that this tournament will be affiliated with PACE, meaning that at least the top 15% of the field will qualify for the PACE National Scholastics Championship, also to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, VA, part of the Washington, DC, metro area, on June 6-7, 2015.
We hope to see your teams in Centralia on November 22nd. If you have any questions, please let me know.
