2014 PACE NSC (May 24-25 in Reston, VA)

Post by Jeffrey Hill »

NSC is this weekend. A total of 96 teams are attending, but Ladue is the only team from Missouri. Good luck as you defend your national title!

Does anyone know if there will be any streaming or a link to stats?

I don't believe there will be any streaming. We'll have to wait to see how often stats get uploaded.

It appears the stats are a full 3 rounds in Jeff's bracket behind. Ladue is in a 4 way tie for first with no losses if I read this right with the second highest ppb at the moment.

$20 says that as per usual the score sheets are designed in some idiotic way that no one was instructed to fill out properly and so some poor sap in tc (me in 2012) has to divine it as if it were Linear B.

I can confirm from Ben that Ladue went 7-0 with at least the second highest ppb and a win over Bellarmine by 500-230.

Ben confis that Ladue is 12-0 going into tomorrow's Superplayoffs. They are guaranteed no lower than 8th place!

Playoff stats:

http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... playoff_a/

So Western Albemarle, LASA A, LASA B, High Tech A, Northmont, St. John, and Farragut join Ladue in Superplayoffs tomorrow. Ladue is the only team undefeated overall but Western's, St. John's and High Tech's loss doesn't carry over. So Ladue goes into this 1-0 for all the marbles tomorrow!

Per Max Ladue lost round 16 to St. John's 540-260. Now in the eternal words if Ericka Hayes the mother of WUAT: "Everyone is a loser !"

After being behind most of the game against LASA A, Ladue took the lead on tossup/bonus 18. Being ahead by 10 going into the final tossup, Ladue answered incorrectly and LASA picked it up and 30'd the bonus to win 390-360.

After the superplayoffs, there were two 6-1 teams: Western Albemarle (loss to Ladue) and LASA A (loss to Western Albemarle); they will be playing for the championship.

Ladue and St. John's are both 5-2, so they will be starting the third place game shortly.

St. John's won the third place game 450-370. Ladue finishes fourth out of 96 teams. Great job!
