Since D. Garb never got around to setting up a temporary announcement, I'll note that we're running this year's Earlybird on 10/15 at UIUC. We've pulled teams from several States (including Missouri) in the past and we're hoping to do so again this year.

This is tentative, but we are trying to run the second St. Louis University Academic Competition on October 29th, pending us getting rooms. Once we hear back from their reservation department, we will go about a more formal announcement. This would be on an NAQT A-set again.

Less tentative - Clayton High School will be running a tournament on an NAQT Invitational Series on November 12th. You can contact me or their coach, Adam Dunsker, for more information before we make the full announcement, but this will be happening.

Oakville will be tentatively hosting a JV tournament on October 15- I say tentatively, because there is also a band competition that day that I was unaware of, and the majority of my team is in band. If I can get enough help for the tournament, we will host.

This is all tentative, but Truman is looking to host an A-set tournament on January 21st, and our annual high school tournament, Truman Bowl, on March 24th.

More details should come later into the season from club leaders.

EDIT: Truman Bowl is definitely now on March 10th. A-set in January. Basically what Charlie said.

North Kansas City will be hosting their Junior Varsity Invitational Tournament on November 5th. The plan is to have it be a mirror of the Fall Novice Tournament.

North Kansas City will be hosting their annual Varsity Invitational Tournament on January 14th on an HSAPQ set.

North Kansas City will also be hosting the first ever End of the Season NAQT Tournament on either March 24th or 31st (will have a decision really soon). This will be on an NAQT A-set.

Tuscumbia High School will be hosting the following tournaments in 2011-2012, with full announcements to follow:

We will host a mirror of the SCOP Novice set on October 15. This tournament is open to all high school players who have not attended a national tournament.

A middle school tournament, run on Olympia's ACF-1 set, will be on October 29. Any 7th or 8th grade students may compete.

Finally, we will host a high school tournament on a yet-to-be-determined HSAPQ set on February 25.

In addition to the above, another middle school tournament, a tournament for 5th and 6th grade students, and perhaps another high school tournament are in the works. Those dates will be posted as soon as they are finalized.

Oakville is hosting a SCOP Novice Tournament on Oct. 29 and Sam Haynes will be helping me run this. I would appreciate any help I can get moderating this event. Please send me an email at whelehonc@mehlville.k12.mo.us if you are interested in moderating.

Savannah will be hosting it's JV tournament on February 4th. Our NAQT Varsity tournament will be March 10th. We also have a middle school tournament in the works, but no date in mind there. I will be directing the MS and JV tournaments, so you can shoot me an email at savageqb2012@yahoo.com with questions. However, a lot of things have not been decided yet besides dates and the questions we are using.

Just heard from Jefferson City's coach that they'll be running their invitational again, on November 19th. This time it will be on an NAQT A-set.

We just launched the hsquizbowl.org Quizbowl Resource Database, which combines the tournament listing functionality of the old hsquizbowl tournament database with the SQBS hosting previously offered at scobo.net, with some question set information thrown in, all in a more user-friendly package. It would be awesome for you to post your tournaments there too; all you need is an hsquizbowl forum account!

Rock Bridge has been approved to run MACA's JV State tournament, with Missouri Quizbowl Alliance providing staff and a set that will be very low difficulty and very high quality on March 17th.

I'm going to ask that the last Saturday in February have Villa Duchesne added. Sorry for the lateness, but Anthony Loveday and I finally had some discussions about it today. A formal post should be forthcoming by the end of the week.

Not sure if this is on topic but I was wondering if anyone had information about the Missouri Valley tournament on Jan 14. I just need basic information like contact person, fee, and format. Thanks

Southwest R-V (Washburn) are hosting their academic tournament Feb. 4, according to their district's online calendar. I've no word on format or teams attending.

I'm hearing some indirect things about Marshall hosting its tournament on 3/24. Can anyone confirm?

They are. Which is more than a little inconvenient, as we already have 4 tournaments on that date now, and they never announced it online (maybe it's on the MACA website, I don't know).

EDIT: Just checked, it's not on the MACA website. So they never announced it online at all, which is more than a little irritating.
