Re: Warrenton Tournament 2010 (Feb. 21)
Pacific employed the "pass the math" strategy in the finals. They may have employed it in their game against Borgia, but I am not sure. We found it a bit frustrating, but just slugged it out. The game came down to the final question, which Austin answered correctly.
There were about 3 or possibly 4 math questions that slipped through our fingers with their quick pass strategy. We did not have our best math person (Abby) and may have come with the 3 if she had been there. Three of our players are capable of doing math (in fact, we even had a game where all four answered a math question; Robert claims it was his first ever math question), so they were a bit annoyed by that strategy.

You guys finished a tournament by 10 in the morning? On a Sunday? Nothing wrong with that, I'm just surprised.

Was the format of this tournament like that of Washington High School's?

Re: Warrenton Tournament 2010 (Feb. 20)
Yes. These sets were MSHSAA balanced whereas the Patrick's Press sets used at Washington were not. Those sets leaned heavily to history with fewer math questions. These sets had 10 math, 10 science, 10 history, 10 communication arts, 6 fine arts, and 4 miscellaneous questions. This is the same balance you heard during league play and will hear in district play.
