Notable Players Missing Austin (FZW) Abby (FZW) - after scoring 10 the first game, she had to leave to attend a previously scheduled event. Luckily for us, she returned in time for the playoffs.

Ummm, so how exactly did these morning rounds work? Specifically referring to the spots where (it seems that) the same team plays two different games in the same round. My guess would have been B teams, but that wouldn't consistently explain each round...

Re: 2010 Gateway Athletic Conference Tournament (March 27 @ FH)
I'll fix that. I was trying to look at original scoresheets (where the rounds are not marked clearly). I accidently left all of my scoresheets and all posted scores at school. I incorrectly listed a game in round 1 that should have been in round 2 (and visa versa). Thanks. No B teams. We run this tournament just like we run districts and have so for years hoping that those who have success here will have success in districts and beyond.

Re: 2010 Gateway Athletic Conference Tournament (March 27 @ FH)
One Interesting FZW fact
Emilee scored 10 toss-ups in the second game (vs. FZN). She is the 15th player in school history to have scored 10 or more toss-ups in a varsity game. Six of the 15 players are current players. They include (with their individual high game listed, all occurring this year): Austin (17), Robert (16), Abby (13), Dylan (11), Edbert (10), and Emilee (10). Our school record for most toss-ups in a game is held by Julia Price (21).

The irony, of course, being that the team that has won GACs the past four years has lost Districts. Also, Coach Gibbs, who runs GACs now? Has Coach Scherrer taken over the entire process (including organization, selecting question providers, etc.)?

Re: 2010 Gateway Athletic Conference Tournament (March 27 @ FH)
The activities directors meet each year in May to decide who is hosting each conference tournament (e.g. say Fort Zumwalt South gets chosen to run the junior varsity girls tournament, St. Charles West gets chosen to run the freshman wrestling tournament, etc.). It is a draft process, from what I understand, with academic competition not being the #1 draft choice in any year. That activities director is in charge of the tournament. Of course, he/she will likely just have the academic coach run the tournament rather than worrying about it.
Let's see if I can remember things correctly as far as who was in charge: 2002 - (I was not there . . . . um, . . . . maybe Francis Howell Central) 2003 - Timberland 2004 - Warrenton 2005 - Washington 2006 - Timberland 2007 - Francis Howell Central 2008 - Francis Howell Central 2009 - Francis Howell 2010 - Francis Howell
