Jimmy- do you remember our other main player from the time we played you guys in the JV tournament? Shortish, named Thor? He's going to Northwestern. I don't know if he'll do quiz bowl, but I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Will from Helias didn't make All-District. No one did. But he's probably their best player, so I guess he's the most likely from Helias to make All-State.

I was first. I think Dane from Blue Springs was 3rd or 4th. Todd from Rock Bridge was somewhere around 6th. No one from Helias and no one else from our team made it. It was mostly people from teams we didn't play at districts or elsewhere.

Too much buzzer speed is bad, especially on trick questions. a trick question is a poorly written question. good questions should provide subtle but helpful clues, and if they can't manage that they should not give red herrings. most important qualities: 1. knowledge 2. speed 3. familiarity with qu...

Edina/Knox County. I don't know who's going, though. We had some pretty good teams (eg Helias) last year but of course they've got the tournament going on. I'm hoping it won't just be all the little schools from 20 miles away. Last I heard, Kirksville's going to enter 2 teams.
