They do the Kansas City area competition at William Jewell. It's sponsored by the International Relations Council in Kansas City. The chair of our Poli Sci department is involved with it somehow.

And Dakota, no, I have never heard of getting NFL points by doing QB. That would be insanely awesome though. I know that people on our speech and debate team who were in the broadcasting class were somehow able to get NFL points for their work in that class. So getting them for QB is probably possi...

Thanks for the clarification about Lincoln Prep, I figured you would know better than me any how, Dakota. Yeah, KMO is pretty dumb but it is something that a lot of schools-- gifted programs mostly, I think-- do in this area. We did it all the way back in the elementary gifted program, all the way through to doing it in HS qb. Obviously, it's not really a desirable alternative to quizbowl, but if you ha...

I know Savannah had some kind of quizbowl at the middle school level at one time, but that would probably be a huge stretch for an inner city KC school to fund a trip up there to see.

Stephanie, that's not quite how the question was written. There was enough space for someone to simply buzz off of 1975 (which it appears people did). Gotcha. Wait . . . I think I get it. This argument against math is made because the assumption is made that those who do math quickly do not know more than you. That's what it is, isn't it? You only look at that particular problem and say, "I could solve it. It just takes me more time." Those abl...
