Good tournament. I think the rounds were excessively long though.... 50 questions plus 20 two part bonuses is unnecessarily long, in my opinion.

Re: 2010 MSHSAA Districts Results
It is agreed that the questions were very bad. Nay, I say, horrific. Notwithstanding, we ALL had to deal with them. I was very proud of how our team performed. We played some absolutely top notch teams, and managed to pull out some very close victories. It is a testimony to the competition when I sa...

Re: Clarence Cannon Conference 2010
That happens ALL THE TIME in these QG packets. They just sit and lecture vaguely about an answer --- Here's my invented example question: Baseball is the American pastime. It is played on a field that can also be called a diamond. The pitchers throws the ball to the catcher, and the player at bat (w...

Re: 2010 Suburban Conference Quads
Yes, but there would be no reason to----- our problem was that we could literally not be there that day. Since you wouldn't have fluctuating amounts of players available from round to round in a single day, switching players for the same reason we did would be illogical, agreed?

Re: 2010 Suburban Conference Quads
That was exactly where I agreed with you Charlie. As a result, I think that a rule should be made if it is already not in place ---- and ...

Re: 2010 Suburban Conference Quads
I can definitely see that point of view. But, keep in mind --- These players that moved up are NEVER varsity players. The legality of the issue would be drawn more in question if they were varsity players. Things like that are very unsportsmanlike and are most certainly illegal. This instance howeve...

Re: 2010 Suburban Conference Quads
Our poor JV team was split up their first week since their top players were playing varsity because of our normal varsity players' absences. As a result, the JV team unfortunately went 0-3 the first week. They tried to make up for it by going 6-0 for the rest of the event----- unfortunately, they fi...

Truman finished 7-3, I think. Don't quote me.
Those are the only three I know of for sure.

A well-run, punctual tournament. Kudos to all -- particularly Pilot Grove. A small school competing (and winning) against larger schools is refreshing and a poignant reminder that, yes, size doesn't matter. =]

Who is everybody?
I'm Sam Parrilla from Park Hill South High School , class of '11.
I enjoy answering all sorts of questions, but if I had to choose one topic it'd be music.
Outside of Academic Competitions, I enjoy playing in the band (french horn), playing in the jazz band (piano), reading, and doing crosswords!

Well, I believe Liberty is building a second HS. Either next year or the one after that, Liberty will be split in half. Perhaps that'll move them down to a lower division (based on size of school). That'd be interesting.

I agree w/ Spencer. The best teams should be at state. There seems to be no feasible solution to the problem, however. ...Perhaps more informed districting..... I have no information on this at all. I think there should be a way to split NKC and Liberty up. Or, as Spencer Fish suggested, a new way for how teams qualify for state. What do you think is a fair solution to the problem? Or, do you think the situation is acceptable as it is?
