I can't remember a good pep talk before a game. I remember one pep talk about another player on another team, but it wasn't that motivating to me.

I'm not talking about the close game you lost at state. I'm talking about a mediocre team beating a state team 400-200.
I would have to say for me it would have been in 2000. NKC's varsity team lost to Savannah's JV team. I won't repeat what the coach said.

I noticed some reference to Panasonic Academic Challenge photos from 2002. I've never seen them. I'd like to see them because the photo I've got from 2001 is lame. I look like I'm asleep in the one from 2001. I'll see if I can find it. 1999 Panasonic roster: Andy Wehrman (NKC) Ryan Manuel? (Blue Spr...

Whatever happened to Nixa and the Hill brothers? Playing Adam Hill would motivate me to come out of retirement. Of course, he would have to come up with the funds for a UMKC team since he is the conservative and wait til next fall. I don't know if I could recruit Jeffrey Dazey to join in the traitor...

I may have left out an even better one. I was a freshman when this happened. I told Adam "Nixa" Hill that he was going to die because of Y2K when he played for NKC. I then brought in an article from the KC Star a few days later that had a quote from "Arkansas Bob" of all country ...

Is there one team you wish you would have beaten that you never did? For me, it had to have been Northside with Shawn and Seth from 2000-2001. Seth was the dark-haired lanky one and Shawn was short with curly blonde hair. We were ahead of Northside until the last question of the 2nd quarter when Lar...

Hi, Jon! It's been a long time since we've talked. I'm glad to see that things seem to be going well for you at UMKC. You didn't quite give your quotation about Bill Clinton justice, though. We gave you a hard time because of the entire context. This should go in the funniest/worst answers thread, ...

I always heard from Mr. Allen about Larry Jones. I heard that Larry Jones made a moderator cry one time because he was so forceful. I remember another time when I was at another tournament and he referred to the men's restroom as the dude's can.

All time: I would add Danny from Savannah and Mike Ruby from Liberty. I would glady given up my spot kyle to a much better player named Andy Wehrman We plowed over Andy Wehrman's Northwestern team at Iowa. We are talking about high school here. On stats that matter, I would say accuracy is first especially if you have other good players on the team. Nothing could piss me off more than a team member that was good, but missed a lot of questions. I'm not naming names.

I would say Jason has as much of a chance of dating Melissa as Greg Martin. Considering that I've never heard of Jason, I would pick Melissa. I've never heard of Lincoln either. You've got 2 strikes. You've got one left hit and you have to hit a homer to win this contest.

If I had to think of balanced teams, it would be these 2 Mike 97 with Andy as a sophomore Andy 99 with Adam as a sophomore In other words, it's good to have one real strong junior or senior and one star player to be that's a sophomore or junior. I would say it depends on the questions. If it were NAQT, I would say depth of knowledge and ability to connect the dots. As a former player of Coach Allen and a 3-time Panasonic team member, I don't think Coach Allen is trying to be unfair in anyway. He may have a west side bias, but so would Bill Luce who is from the west side of the state too. I really think the state tournament is somewhat irrelevant. I think what ...

My best buzz would have to have been against Adam Hill. The questions were longer at the University of Arkansas tournament in 2000. Yes returning players could possibly be implied (but not always). My question (for more focus) is the other spots.
